The Trump administration late Saturday directed states that they must "immediately undo" any actions they have made to provide benefits to low-income families via SNAP.

Roughly 40% of people in the Bronx rely on SNAP benefits, but insecurity looms during the government shutdown. CBS News New York's John Dias reports.

Lamont initially allocated $3 million to Foodshare to help supply food banks around the state with food to distribute to recipients who had run out of SNAP money.

Gov. Kathy Hochul promised to “continue fighting” for SNAP recipients after the Supreme Court ruled that the Trump administration didn’t have to issue full payments for the program late Friday. Hochul initially announced earlier that day that all state agencies would distribute full SNAP benefits in November,

The US Department of Agriculture announced Friday that it is working to fully fund food stamp benefits for November to comply with a federal court order, and the process should be completed later in the day.

The state is preparing to issue full SNAP benefits for November to the 440,000 Minnesotans enrolled in wake of a federal court ruling ordering existing federal funds to be directed to the program.
